Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about what we do — and what we don't.

What exactly does GoodwillLetter do?

GoodwillLetter is a document preparation and mailing service. You answer a short guided interview, we draft a clear, professional letter from your answers, and once you approve it we print it and send it via USPS First-Class Mail® — and you can check its status from your dashboard.

Is GoodwillLetter a law firm or a credit repair company?

No. GoodwillLetter is not a law firm, credit repair organization, financial advisor, or credit counselor, and we do not provide legal or financial advice. You are the author of your letter — we prepare, print, and mail it at your direction.

Do I review the letter before it's mailed?

Always. Nothing is printed or mailed until you have read the full letter and approved it. Confirming that the details are accurate and authorizing the mailing is the final step of checkout.

Will my letter get the result I'm hoping for?

We can't promise any particular outcome — whether a creditor, bureau, or agency grants a request is entirely their decision. What we make sure of is that your letter is professionally written, correctly addressed, and mailed exactly as you approved it.

What happens to documents I upload?

Documents you upload to help prepare a letter are processed temporarily to extract the details your letter needs and are not permanently stored after processing is complete. Our systems are also designed to automatically redact Social Security numbers before anything is stored or sent to our AI providers. Our Privacy Policy has the full details.

Can I cancel an order or get a refund?

You can delete a draft at any time before you pay. Once a letter has been approved, paid for, and entered the mail stream, it cannot be recalled, and payments are final except as described in our Terms of Service. If a problem on our side prevents your letter from being mailed, contact support and we'll review it.

How does the Premium plan work?

Premium is a monthly subscription that covers up to 3 letters every billing period — useful when a dispute takes follow-up rounds. It renews automatically each month, and you can cancel anytime from your account page.

The fine print lives in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
